Hahhaha, this is wicked. Having had brief experiences with GPS units, I usually turn off that womans voice. It gets annoying, but this… this I don’t think I’d ever get bored of. Video explanation after the jump.

As many Canadians using mobile phones are aware, the wireless carrier situation in our country isn’t a very pretty one.
Even compared to our neighbours down south, our measly list of carriers should serve as an indication that something might be wrong. Despite the seemingly extensive selection upon first glance, many are notably subdivisions of the Big 3 — namely, Rogers, Bell, and Telus. There are also a number of smaller carriers that provide service to certain regions but piggy-back off the networks of the Big 3.
In other words, most of the Canadian wireless service is propped up by this three-pronged oligopoly. Therein lies the problem.

Now that the law against using cellphones while driving is in place, it’s time to start looking at headsets. This one did catch the sparkle in mine eye for its cool design. It wraps around the ear and plugs into the base to complete the ’stone’. Apparently a very comfortable fit and operates quite well (or sucks as reviewed by engadget). Utilizes noise cancellation technology, dual microphones and rubber pads for added comfort. Goes for about $130 usd.

The RilakKuma netbook comes with Atom N270, 1GB memory and 160GB storage and of course a face printed on the lid of the computer. Besides looking bulky and thick, Bandai has decided to use an outdated 8.9-inch 1024×600 display for this netbook. But of course nobody cares about that. Only 500 units will be made and you have a pay a hefty price for it as well, ¥79,800 ($862).

Did anyone hear about Ubisoft starting up a new studio in Toronto, Canada? Unfortunely, not everyone thinks that Ubisoft bringing 800 new jobs to Toronto is a good thing.
According to Marcus Gee from Toronto’s Globe and Mail, he thinks that the Canadian government is wasting money on “attracting” gaming companies over to Canada.
That quarter-billion has to come from somewhere, much of it from good Toronto businesses that don’t have the buzz factor to attract an open-collared premier. Their tax burden will rise, and their business will suffer, while the cool kids in the video-game industry collect government cheques.
But nobody’s getting any government cheques here. Ubisoft’s getting $263 million in non-refundable tax credits over ten years, so they’re not receiving any money, they’re just paying less.

So finally, Google is bringing gmail, docs, calendar and talk out of beta. That’s right as of right now, those 3 products are out of beta allowing google to focus on making theses products into the business world. So I guess this means that Microsoft Office will be having a new competitor maybe? Who knows. Lets just hope they start focusing on extending the products onto more platforms, like having their own Apps on the Iphone/Ipod or something.

Google’s up to their crazy antics again. This time, they’re taking the concepts of online collaboration and instant messaging and combining them all into one. Think Google Docs and Gmail/Google Talk all in one or something as equally insane. As Google would tell you:
A “wave” is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
I could explain all the insane features, but I think the developers would do a better job. In fact, they do it in a 1h:20m video. Hint: Skip to 1:12:44 for some really crazy stuff.
You can also sign up to be a beta tester, or just be notified when they’re ready to release the Wave. The full video and features and all that fancy stuff can be found on Google’s official Wave site.
