starcraft-2-1Activison Blizzard’s Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, was originally presumed to come out this year. But thanks to a new Battle.Net that Blizzard has been working on, the game has been pushed back to “first half of 2010″. For those of you who don’t know how Blizzard works when it comes it release dates, that “first half of 2010″ is a date. Most like we’ll see it around May – June time in 2010, or so let’s hope.

Taylor Swift in Band HeroTaylor Swift finally debuts in a video game and the game she shows up in is Activision’s BAND HERO, which is due to come out this fall on the 3 console. What’s Band Hero you ask? Well to get games like Singstar a run for their money, Activision brings out Band Hero to target family. Yes, Activision is going after your children now to suck them into the music instrument genre games. This game will be facing off with Harmonix’s LEGO Rock Band. So yeah, let’s see how it goes.

504x_custom_1247168368434_ia1nSince the game comes out in November and the box isn’t exactly what developers should be thinking about right now, this is most likely a demo box for stores like GameStop to put up on the shelves to help build hype for the game.

What I’m surprised about is that they are still using the “Call of Duty” name as part of the title, see how in the teaser trailer those 3 words didn’t even exist.

prototype_boxartSo I just finished Prototype and boy is it a lot of fun. So Radical Entertainment (A Canadian Game Developer Company – Represent!) has finally completed their game and it was on store shelves on June 9, 2009 on the PC, PS3 and the Xbox 360. Published by Activision this game had a lot of hype going around it before the release and many people thought it probably wouldn’t have lived up to the hype. But let me tell you know, that it did. rock-matrix-v3-490So the first questions is “HOW THE CRAP IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?” Anyways, back to the news flash info.

Last week the NPD released the US sales charts of 2008, at first they were specific to the game and console only, so this wasn’t that great for comparing the two games which are out on all consoles. So now they have put them together for Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and whats the verdict? Guitar Hero World Tour out sold Rock Band 2 to a ratio of about 2:1.

“The first full-band (drums, guitar/bass, and vocals) installment in Activision’s billion-dollar franchise sold 3.4 million copies domestically, twice as many as Rock Band 2′s 1.7 million haul. Analysts had the latter game, developed by former Tony Hawk shop Neversoft, selling nearly 1 million units in November alone” ~ Gamespot.com

The main reason was probably because Rock Band 2 didn’t come out for the Wii and PS2 until December 18th, and seeing how those are the main two consoles most households have, it’s obvious that Guitar Hero World Tour, which came out on October 26, which was released on all platforms on the same day, had more time to get more units sold. Sad, but true. Better luck next round Harmonix.

I really hope that this game does well. Because it looks awesome. I’ve been waiting a long time to see a proper shape shifter game and this game looks like it has the potential to deliver. All I hope is that the button layout will be alright and not too complicated. Anyways hit the jump to see the trailers and videos that were released at CES 2009. Enjoy!
