Industry analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities has a hunch that the Wii will see a price drop by the end of 2009…This due to the fact that, while the system is still pretty much selling like hot-cakes, the Wii supply “has finally exceeded demand.”
Speaking to Edge Online, the Pac-Attack as we loving refer to him as stated that “In order to hit its full-year Wii shipment forecast, we expect Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday, likely to $199.99.”
Of course this isn’t 100% for sure, but it’ll be interesting to see if this happens because then it will be back in competition with Microsoft for the cheapest console.

So since Nintendo is telling Harmonix to go stab themselves about the whole “Wii Hard Drive” issue. Harmonix is now working with SanDisk, and they are going to release Rock Band SD cards, where you simply download the songs to the SD card from the store. This is scheduled to come out in spring sometime for about $13 USD. (Not that bad I suppose). So yay for the Wii owners with Rock Band 2, using the SD slot as an external storage for games, but a hard drive of some sort would be better, c’mon on Nintendo.

Nintendo’s come into a spot of trouble again.
It’s actually the exact same case, but two years after the original lawsuit against their Wiimote wrist straps that were the apparent cause of said Wiimotes becoming embedded into TVs across the nation.
Most people have heard the arguments, and many have voiced their concerns against the people who would fling their Wiimotes so hard that it would actually snap the wrist strap in the first place. However, there will always be those who jump at any sign of sensationalist news, and as long as they exist, courts will be kept busy with lawsuits left, right, and center. Not to say that there isn’t a risk involved, but if everybody is sensible about their wrist-flicking with the Wiimotes, I doubt something like this would have become an issue in the first place.
