I guess it was bound to happen… He’s not known as the Louis Vuitton Don for no reason. So he’s working with Louis Vuitton to design 6 shoes, and here’s a sneak peak at one of them. looks pretty clean. Not bad, but the heel of the shoe could use some work. Can’t wait to see what the others will look like. No word yet on coulours… either.

So a complete look at the CLOT x NIKE 1World Air Force 1’s is out. As you may know, CLOT is based in Hong Kong and as such, they felt it was necessary to represent that in their shoe. This shoe is immaculate in its design and intent to show the world the asian culture. The packaging is truly amazing. Likened to Chinese New Year candy boxes, the package includes, instead of candy, several coloured laces in separating segments, and then the shoes. This is what I call product design. More pictures after the jump.

WOW. Maybe I just have a thing for objects made of wood, but these are seriously sexy. Being an avid glasses wearer slash I’m afraid to wear contacts, these glasses are exactly what I was looking for when I bought these. Too bad these didn’t come out sooner, or else I definitely would’ve gotten them one way or another. Hit the jump for more details.

Look how happy Murakami looks. And look at what he’s wearing! He went to the Art Basel in Miami dressed in a full body suit of his own flowery characters. Gotta love a guy who can go to an art show dressed like that. Murakami is definitely one of a kind. Guess who else was at the show? None other than Pharrell, showing off his “Perspective Chair”. I guess its not your ordinary art show. Check out more pictures of Murakami, Pharrell and Hugo!

So maybe many of you don’t remember, but around this time last year, ASUS revealed a concept laptop that was clad in bamboo. Now that concept is a reality. Coming in a 12.1″ and 11″ formfactors, this badboy went on sale at the Taiwan IT Month exhibition on Saturday running at about NT$59,900. That’s about $1800USD for you foreign currency impaired readers us here in North America. Looks sexy enough, but with the relatively high price tag, I’m not sure if its worth it. However Asus isn’t known to be frugal with their specs, so here comes the nerdy part…specs! AFTER THE JUMP! (more…)

The winners for the MUJI AWARD 03 design competition were just recently announced. The theme this time around is “FOUND MUJI”. It required designers to take a new perspective on an already existing/everyday product. This competition attracted just under 2000 entries from 35 countries around the world between May and June. I was tempted to join this competition myself, but really couldn’t think of anything and was pretty busy with something, I forget. Some of these are kind of cool, but not as impressive as 01 and 02. Check out the winners after the jump.
