Valkyria Chronicles WANTS YOU January 5, 2009

So lets face it, Valkyria Chronicles hasn’t done that well since it’s come out. With it watercolour like art work and its great storyline and unique gameplay, it’s a shame that this game isn’t getting as much recognition that it should be. But to think that Sega would go THIS far to get people to buy and play their game. How about a demo? Rather than, say… propaganda or some sort? I don’t find this very tempting but some people might. Sega’s crazy.

Ok, so the information and images for the Street Fighter 4: Collector’s Editons are out and I have to say I think PS3 beats the Xbox360 on this one purely on the basis that the PS3 version will incluse a RYU FIGURE… where as the 360 version will include a… C. Viper figurine, sure whatever “sex sells” blah blah… BUT IT IS RYU!!! *ahem* Anyways more CE details and C.(Appaently it stands for Crimson) Viper bio after the jump. (more…)

So the Metal Gear Solid 4 Download content is finally coming to PSN. It will be available in North America on December 23, 2008 and on Christmas Day, December 25, 2008 in Japan. Seems like they will be added some new components to the game. They are introducing a paintball gun! Where you can not shoot at obstacles and all that great stuff. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Individual characters are $2 each, the four-character pack is $6. And the big-ass level pack? It’s $6, which is a steal considering it comes with a bonus character (a soldier dude) and a ton of junk for your LBP levels. I believe the 4 costumes you get are Snake, Raiden, Meryl, and B&B’s Octopus. Hit the jump to watch the video of all this good stuff.

First of all I have to say that this year was an amazing year for the gaming community, everyone and I do mean EVERYONE should be have at least one game that they just HAD to buy, and I do mean HAD TO. Every console had its own exclusive titles and they ALL delivered well, minus a few that could have done better but never the less it was all amazing. For those you are looking for Christmas gift ideas in the games department, hopefully this list can help you narrow down those choices.  Hit the jump to start reading.

I had this sitting game installed on my desktop for a while now but I never got a chance to play it until last weekend. So the developers from EA Redwood Shores in California, have made this 3rd person survival horror action game that was release back in October on the 14th (20th for PC) for the PS3 and xBox360. Apparently there’s a comic for the game as well which acts as a prequel to the game.  Also apparently there’s an animated movie coming out which is also a prequel to the event of the game. Anyways, hit the jump to read more.

I know I am not the first person to post about this but there has been a recent update on Konami’s Metal Gear page and it is simply the splash screen above. What does it all mean? Rumours have been going around trying to decipher what this could potentially translate to console wise. My take after the jump. (more…)

That’s right BigWok, I HAVE BEAT PRINCE OF PERSIA, it took me 11 hours but I DID IT. So I guess you all can tell how much I liked the game seeing how the release date was December 2, 2008 on all platforms (except PC, that’s on the 9th ). First and for most I loved the graphics in the game. I loved the new art direction and the graphics were spot on. I have never seen a game with cell shading done this well. (Valkyrie Chronicles is good but I liked this more) Okay so I should start a format so that things start looking the same or so, so hit the jump for the details:

Apparently Gran Turismo 5 is stated to be released stateside in late 2009. Hopefully by Christmas. More tracks and more cars. I hope they really flesh out and expand on GT5 Prologue. As per usual, it will be released in Japan first, so we might find out more before it even hits our shelves. This already bad news comes with more bad news. Gran Turismo Portable for PSP won’t be released until after GT5. So … more waiting anyone ? As if it hasn’t been long enough…

Street Fighter Apparently there’s a possibility of Street Fighter-themed costumes that may become available as DLC for Little Big Planet. If so, those oddly likable Sackboys and -girls have suddenly gotten a lot more awesome. They’re already awesome to start with too. What does that make it?

Call of Duty World at War Review: Another WWII Game? C’mon Already November 28, 2008

Activision has released the next Call of Duty a few weeks ago. November 11 (Remembrance Day) 2008 on all platforms. I only played the PC version so I don’t really know whats the difference between the platforms besides the Wii version which you can use the Wii Zapper (not required) to play.

So as you can probably tell from the picture the game ONCE AGAIN takes place during World War 2. My first thought was “WHY? Do we really need THAT many WWII games?” Like the event was tragic and blah blah blah. But that’s in the past I’m sick of using the Thompson and all those other old shitty guns. I want to use modern weapons, its something I could relate to better. Which is why Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was such an awesome game.

The developers for this game are Treyarch, these are NOT the guys who did CoD4 (Infinity Wards). The game uses the same engine though so pretty much the only thing that’s going to be different is the storyline. (more…)
